Hello everyone. I’m so delighted to be here on ‘The Unofficial Blog for Brit Writers and Writers Everywhere’. Firstly let me introduce myself. My name is Claire Kinton. I am the author of the young adult fantasy, Dead Game. With guardian angels, a cursed centaur and mythical saints, Lance Corporal Archie Fletcher battles his way through Transit, discovering an underwater world of ancient secrets and brawling with wild lions, enraged charioteers and venomous plants. With the Moon’s trickery endangering his sanity and a three headed dragon that never sleeps blocking his path, Dead Game is no easy feat. The fantasy will whisk you away to a parallel world confirming the knowing deep within us all that the adventure of life must go on.
There’s a lot more about Dead Game on my website www.clairekinton.com, so please feel free to have a browse, or catch up with me on facebook or if you tweet, @Claire_Kinton on twitter.
I wanted to introduce myself not only as an author but also on a personal level. Between working and writing, I’m a full-time mother to three gorgeous children, who are my world and I am wife to the, ever so patient and understanding, Mr. K.
When it comes to writing, I have taken advice from other authors and watched many on their way through to publication. It’s been amazing to, not only read their work but be part of their launches and see them move forward and I’m really looking forward to meeting new authors on this blog and if I can help, inspire or be a sounding board for any, I would be delighted. I have seen how writers have dealt with rejection and how others have dealt with fame. I have also spoken to many of those involved in the publishing world, from agents and publishers, to consultants and book shops and if I can pay any of my experiences forward, onto those who are reading this blog and looking to enter the book world, I would similarly be delighted.
There are many blogs and writing groups out there that can help authors along their journey. One of the best resources and platforms I found was the Brit Writers and the fact they have opened this blog, with agents, publishers and consultants, to help further, is fantastic.
Best wishes to you all...
