Our Clean Windows by Bhavna Khemlani

While I was teaching a few days ago, we saw a surprise at the window. My students and I saw the wonder with risks. The risk some people take to make their life beautiful. Describing one of the window cleaners, he was gliding down slowly and reached the sixteenth floor with his rope tied around his waist sitting on a wooden seat. He did seem to do his job pretty well but the risk he took was phenomenal. Our class had another diversion and discussed about safety and how different people had different occupations. The window cleaners were not appropriately dressed, neither had a helmet worn. It’s time our local workers get trained or are guided about safety when cleaning high rise buildings.

In contrast, the past few days have been quite an overwhelming treatment from various sources. The fluctuation has taken me for a ride into various notions contemplating about the world scenarios. It feels like some people in the world are Anemic as the lack warmth in their gestures leaving a pale and cold shudder. It’s high time they take their Supplements so they can be exposed back to kindness, compassion, and self – realization where one does not become bait to one’s greed. We all need clean windows where we can simply look out the window pane and admire the beauty, nature has for us. With this we can acknowledge the act of benevolence by people and not taking them for granted.

Being drifted away to world-wide scenarios makes me think how one can accumulate everything into one great piece of writing. There is so much to write about in a life time. Well, for the first time I attempted my Flash Fiction story and it’s come to an end. After having written long fiction stories, and poetry, the accomplishment to something new feels good. This makes me realize that sometimes taking a chance and doing something new is actually so much fun and the art of filtering and choosing the right words is a joy. Even though at times I am simply staring at my laptop and wondering – AND! But – eventually, it does come to something worth reading later.

Taking the risk to make life beautiful, or keeping our windows clean, or having to write better, is a chance. The leap of faith in getting the task done is a great dedication.

Try something new – you never know you’re great at it.

Always keep the windows clean to see that beautiful view.
